Shaving Tips and Accessories
When it comes to grooming, shaving is a big part of most people’s daily routine. Men typically shave their facial hair, while women often keep their legs, underarms, and sometimes even pubic hair manicured. In order to get the best, and most clean shave it is important to consider a few things.
Warm up the skin and open up the hair follicles, by first taking a warm shower, hot bath, or applying a warm steaming washcloth to the area to be shaved. When the skin has been warmed and exposed to water, it opens up the hair follicles, and makes for a cleaner, easier shave. Don’t heat up the skin too much, so that you’re skin becomes irritated even more so by a razor, in addition to feeling almost burned.
Use a clean new razor every time if you use a disposable razor on your skin. After the first use, disposable razors can become dull quite quickly. If you have a regular razor in use, make sure to keep your blades, clean, sharp, oiled, and ready for use after each shave. Electric trimmers are a great way to get a close shave, without all the hassle of throwing away razors, and typically needs routine oiling and cleaning. Electric trimmers minimize the risk of receiving cuts, nicks, and slip ups while shaving, offering more control on the body’s contours.
Apply a good aftershave lotion, oil or cream to keep your freshly shaved areas hydrated. Moisturized skin is the best thing to have after removing not only unwanted hair, but also the topmost layer of dead skin cells from your body. There are even now lotions and creams on the market available, which help moisturize the skin, and minimize hair regrowth after and between shaves! Treat your skin well and happy shaving!
